How long we retain your data

Data Security Information – Required by Data Protection legislation
All holders of personal information must comply with the new Europe wide “General Data Protection Regulation” (GDPR) from May 2018. We keep all personal details on our secure website with very restricted access, – some members of the committee – and only they can access e-mail records that we hold. Your IAM RoadSmart records are held on an IAM Secure Website that they will have requested your agreement to keep. We do not keep this information although we can access it for management purposes within the group.

At the inception of the new GDPR rules all existing Associates have already supplied their details, anyone joining from April 2018 on will specifically agree on application to join the Group (or not if that’s the case) to us holding their e-mail/phone/address details. To successfully pursue your Advanced Driving Course you need to be in contact with your ‘Observer’ and you may like to hear what’s going on in the Group too. On completion of training all documents relating to your training will be returned by your Observer.

You will not receive unsolicited e-mails from anyone as a result of our mailing list, only occasional information updates from the Group, usually through the Chairman or me, the Webmaster.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
